Origin Story
Chámber 9 was born from the same team that created Dragon Cat Café back in 2018 — a brand that brought authentic Taiwanese tea and handcrafted drinks to London’s café scene.
As our business grew, we decided to separate our online sales and in-person experiences into two distinct brands. Today, Dragon Cat Café continues as our online store, focused on tea products, bubble tea kits, and merchandise, while Chámber 9 serves as our physical tea room, offering the same great drinks, wheelcakes, and event experiences our customers know and love.
Our mission remains unchanged — to share premium Taiwanese teas, freshly made drinks, and comforting flavours with every guest.
You can still find our teas and kits online through
fresh, fresh, fresh
At Chámber 9, every drink and wheelcake is made with care from start to finish. Our teas are brewed to order, ensuring the perfect balance of aroma and flavour in every cup. We grind our coffee beans just before brewing for the best possible taste, and our fruit teas are made using juice pressed directly from real fruits like apple, grapefruit, and pineapple. Even our signature wheelcakes are crafted with fillings we prepare mostly from scratch — and can be made to order — so every bite captures the warmth and character of our kitchen
behind the brand name
Our name reflects this vision: “Chá” (茶) meaning tea, and “Chámber” meaning room — a welcoming space where you can slow down, enjoy high-quality tea, chilled-out music, and unwind.
Beyond our tea, we also share curated playlists, allowing you to take a little of the Chámber 9 atmosphere with you wherever you go.
The number 9 is central to our identity. In Eastern culture, 王久 (Wáng Jiǔ) carries the sound of nine (九, jiǔ), an auspicious number that also sounds like the word for longevity and eternity (久, jiǔ).
“王” evokes the purity of jade and the quiet strength of craftsmanship;
“久” echoes nine — a number of continuity and fortune.
Together, they remind us that good tea, like good company, is timeless.
